Abstract submission
Poster applications are still welcome!
As we still have a few poster slots left, we are still welcoming applications for poster presentations. Please send your abstract to [email protected] with a list of authors and their affiliations, along with the designated presenter if accepted. We will promptly review your submission and notify you of the outcome. The deadline for application is 4th November, however as you are required to print your own posters, please allocate ample time for the submission process, review, notification, registration and payment, printing, and transportation of your poster to the conference upon acceptance. Any queries please also email [email protected].

Call for Late-Breaking Abstracts
Late-breaking abstract submission for the Infectious Disease Modelling Conference is now open and will run till September 26, 2024, to enable recent research findings to be included as both oral and poster presentations. Late-breaking abstracts can be submitted for consideration via the registration and abstract submission system: https://scientific.idmconference.net/
Important Points for Late-Breaking Abstracts
• We accept submissions of both Research Abstracts and Early-Career Researchers’ Sandbox Abstracts.
• We encourage submissions of abstracts about infectious disease modelling in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America, especially studies about and from LMICs from these regions.
• We prioritize abstracts with at least some findings unpublished at the time of abstract submission.
• To ensure assessment of a late-breaking abstract and inclusion in the Conference website, submission of the abstract must be completed by September 26, 2024. Confirmation of abstract acceptance will be communicated by October 10, 2024. Registration of the presenting author, with payment of registration fee, must be complete by October 20, 2024.
Types of abstracts:
- Research Abstract (
Submission Deadline: August 7, 2024Late-Breaking Abstract Submission Portal is Opening)
Abstracts are invited for oral and poster presentations about research, methodologies, and breakthroughs that shape our understanding of infectious disease modelling. If the abstract is accepted for oral presentation, the presenting author will be invited to give a talk of 15-18 minutes in a 90-min session of 4-5 talks, followed by a Q&A discussion of 15-18 minutes. - Early-Career Researchers’ Sandbox Abstract (
Submission Deadline: August 7, 2024Late-Breaking Abstract Submission Portal is Opening)
To encourage exchange of research work in the preliminary stage among early career researchers, a 90-min session called Early-Career Researchers’ Sandbox will be organized on Day 1. Each of the 12 presenters will present their research ideas/progress in 5 minutes, followed by a 30-minute interactive discussion between the presenters and audience to advance those ideas. Proposal for Organized Session (Submission Deadline: July 22, 2024)
Proposals for Organized Sessions are invited for oral presentations of the same theme, which is about research, methodologies, and breakthroughs that shape our understanding of infectious disease modelling. If the proposal is accepted, the submitting author will design and organize a 90-min session. The organized session can consist of long and short oral presentations, and we also encourage more creative and interactive formats to mix oral presentations with polling, discussions, and debates.
Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an abstract reference number that can be quoted in all correspondence. Once the abstract is accepted, at least one of the authors must register for the conference and present at the conference. You can submit more than one abstract for review.
For research abstracts and early-career research sandbox abstracts, if you have more than one abstract accepted after the review by the committee, you will need to register to attend and pay an additional presentation fee for each additional abstract accepted. Please note this is for abstracts that you are the presenting author of, but not those you are co-author of.
For proposals for organized sessions, if your proposal is accepted, you will need to make sure all presenting authors in your session to register to attend and each presenting author should only present once in your session. If any of the presenting authors have other abstracts accepted after the review, they will need to pay an additional presentation fee for each additional abstract accepted.
